Another Getty in Malibu<\/span><\/h2>\n

One of the two Paul Getty Museums, the f<\/span>irst built <\/span>museum is on the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway), in the eastern side of the Malibu coast. Since it is a web reservation system, it is recommended to make a reservation early in advance. Inspired by the luxurious Roman mansion, Villa dei Papiri in Hercul\u0101neum, Italy and ancient Roman houses such as in Pompeii and Stabiae, the design of the Museum makes you forget you are in LA. It’s a hideaway like spot!<\/span><\/p>\n

When you enter the entrance, a narrow road continues, and you may be worried whether it is really a villa, but after a while, the entrance to the parking lot appears…<\/span><\/p>\n

The parking fee is $ 15 ($ 10 after 15:00), but on the same day you can use it for parking at the Getty Center, which is a great deal! * Coupons available at the museum information desk<\/span><\/p>\n

However, please note that the museum is closed on Monday (Center) and Tuesday (Villa).<\/span><\/p>\n

If you walk for a while from the parking lot, you will see the buildings and the auditorium.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oil King,\u00a0 Jean Paul Getty is keen on collecting antiquities and his vast collection is the foundation of the museum. Here in the villa, there are a garden of roses and English ivy, as well as relics of Greece, Rome and Etruria, also an herb garden on the west side.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, there is a museum shop, a cafe and a kiosk cafe outside, so there is plenty of space to relax.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is an interesting project, an audio tour called “Tea By the Sea” on Thursdays and Saturdays at 1:00 pm, including afternoon tea inspired by ingredients such as herbs, vegetables and fruits grown in this villa (Reservation required). It is held on the upper floor of the building where shops etc. are located.<\/span><\/p>\n

It looks like a conference room…<\/span><\/p>\n

but the inside is the r<\/span>oom for afternoon tea <\/span>with a good view.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a wide variety of teas, and of course you can have another one freely!<\/span><\/p>\n

There is an audio tour after the meal, but there are several audio tours held regardless of this course, so why not join them?<\/span><\/p>\n
