At the intersection of Hollywood Blvd and Sunset Blvd, there is a flashy building that stands out, but there is no doubt to say that it’s actually LA’s most famous toy store.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"WACKO<\/p>\n

Soap Plant opened in 1971 as a family-owned handmade soap shop in Los Feliz, then moved to the place on Melrose Ave and the founder’s son, Billy Shire, founded La Luz de Jesus Gallery on the second floor of the shop. After opening WACKO as a pop culture toy store in Los Feliz, where it was founded, Soap Plant and Gallery on Melrose Ave have been relocated to WACKO. The inside is packed with various items! A wide range of books, figures and accessories are available.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are a lot of such figures! It is an atmosphere that makes you want to buy a large amount of things without a concern about money. It seems that many toys from Japan are also available.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a gallery in the back of the shop where avant-garde works are exhibited. If you pass behind the white board on the right of the photo, there is a restroom available.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are many things you won’t find anywhere else, so be sure to check them out when you’re around. There are many cafes nearby, and it is close to Barnsdall Art Park, where the Hollyhock House is located.<\/span><\/p>\n
